BIOGRAPHIES - Cast and Crew - You Don't Need To Know This

Abigail Anderson (Director)
Trained at Central and with Desmond Jones. Abigail has directed more than 40 productions in London and around the UK. Recent work includes: Physick Lies a-Bleeding (Apothecaries’ Hall), Romeo and Juliet and A Christmas Carol (Creation Theatre Company, Oxford), Tennessee Williams’ Like Candles to the Sun in the Platform Series at the Cottesloe, RNT. Abigail directed 2001’s sold-out comedy show Shakespeare for Breakfast at the Edinburgh Fringe which subsequently performed in Warsaw and toured North America. She has also worked as an Assistant Director for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare’s Globe.

Angus Barr (Performer)
Trained at the Poor School before co-founding Ridiculusmus, with whom he worked for five years. He then made a string of short films before returning to theatre with his ecological satire, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Godard! In 2005 he created the musical, Wink the Other Eye, for Wiltons Music Hall, which plays there again this summer. When not working with Gonzo Moose he tries to be artistic director of Bristol-based touring theatre company, Publick Transport. He is also one half of cabaret act, The Banjulele Brothers, though some may prefer to remember him as the keyboard player from 80s pop band, The Pet Dolphins.

Mark Conway (Performer)
Trained at Circomedia, Centre for Physical Theatre and Circus in Bristol. He is co-founder and artistic director of Gonzo Moose and has appeared in all four of their shows. Over the last seven years he has also performed at street festivals and cabarets all over the country, from the Shetland Islands and Glastonbury Festival to the Barbican and Hampton Court Palace. Other work includes: appearing in a ballet version of the Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol and being a stunt man in the film short, The Deal. Television includes: Teachers, Casualty and The Other Bolyne Girl.

Clare Thomson (Performer)
Trained with Philippe Gaulier. Workshops with Monika Pagneux, John Wright, Linda Kerr Scott, Mick Barnfather. Clare is co-founder of Piggy Nero, making The Bubonic Play, Hello Dalai and Bubonic the Film with Cal McCrystal. Other theatre includes: Bouillabaisse’s A Pig Behind the Eyes directed by Darren Tunstall, Chris Green's Curtain Raisers (in conjunction with the Degas, Sickert & Toulouse Lautrec exhibition at Tate Britain), Dot in Seven Blowjobs (Mac Wellman, The Pleasance London), Columbina in The Liar (Goldoni, Wales), Ana in The FireRaisers (Max Frisch, Milan) and Carol in HelloYou (FecundFilms). Clare can be seen this spring in the new series of Hyperdrive on BBC2.

Tom Richmond (Lighting Designer/ Production Manager)
Tom started lighting community theatre while he was still in school, and by the time he graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2004 he already had several professional designs in his portfolio. As well as his two previous tours with Gonzo Moose, his design credits include three shows with Taurusvoice Theatre Company, Vanishing Currents for the Caravan Stage Barge, and the critically acclaimed Fanny and Faggot at the Finborough Theatre. He has also designed numerous one off shows and fringe productions, and his work has been seen at London’s Savoy Hotel and on the Olivier Stage at the National Theatre.

Mandy Dike (Set Designer)
Mandy has worked indoors and outdoors for the past 25 years creating images, environments, settings and performance structures for dance, theatre, community celebrations, site specific shows and events. Companies she has designed and created for include: Theatre of Fire, Welfare state International, Ludus Dance, Ashton Contemporary Theatre, Walk the Plank, The Dukes Playhouse and summer promenades. Mandy is a co-director and designer for internationally acclaimed pyrotechnic company, The World Famous creating multimedia fireshows combining flames, firesculpture, music and performance all over world.

Maija Nygren (Costume Designer)
Graduated from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in July 2004. Since then she has worked as a freelance Costume Maker, Supervisor and Designer for theatre companies including: Oily Cart in London, Desperate Men, Gonzo Moose, Green Ginger, Pickled Image and Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company in Bristol.
